Antigua hosts luxury UK Tour Operator Annual Managers’ Conference

Kuoni, one of the UK’s largest luxury travel and tour operators, has held its Annual Managers Conference in Antigua.

The luxury travel company, which is celebrating fifty years of operation in the UK market, has a long-standing relationship with the destination, and is known for featuring a selection of Antigua properties and selling luxury Antigua Holidays.

Over 45 shop managers, and senior staff including Managing Director of Kuoni, Derek Jones are in Antigua for the conference.

Antigua and Barbuda, beat out other Caribbean destinations as the venue for the conference, which was held at The Verandah Resort and Spa on Monday. The company’s 2014 conference took place in Sri Lanka.

Kuoni listed Antigua as one of the fastest-rising Caribbean destinations, in their 2015 Travel Trend Report released in February. The destination also featured in the number eight spot on Kuoni’s top ten destinations to watch worldwide. The Top ten list comprised of: Maldives, Thailand, The UAE (Dubai and Abu Dhabi), Sri Lanka, USA, Mauritius, Cuba, Antigua, Singapore and Barbados.

The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority hosted Kuoni to a day of site-seeing and excursions today, Wednesday June 10, with visits to sites such as the historic Nelson’s Dockyard, Shirley Heights, Sting Ray City, and the Antigua Rainforest.

The group which has been in Antigua since Sunday, return to the UK on Thursday.
