THE AHTA TOURISM AWARDS
The AHTA Tourism Awards are designed to reward and promote excellence within the tourism industry.
The winners will be celebrated at the Gala Presentation Dinner at TBA on TBA. Everyone involved in the tourism industry is encouraged to participate and attend.
Tickets will be on sale from TBA at a cost of EC$200.00 per person and can be purchased from the AHTA office.
This category is open to Hotels only. The individual must be a true role model and an example to follow for young people entering the industry. He/she should have demonstrated outstanding career achievement through self-development. An expert in his/her field, the person should have demonstrated strong leadership abilities and the power to motivate others. A candidate likely to become a leader in this country’s hotel industry.

This category is open to Hotels only. This award will go to a supervisor from any department of the hotel who has shown outstanding leadership skills. This person should be able to motivate his/her team to achieve positive results for his/her property. Examples of the impact of this person’s leadership on the overall hotel operation should be given.

This category is open to Hotels only. The recipient of this award can come from any department of the hotel. He/she should be an excellent role model to his/her fellow employees. This person should demonstrate a positive attitude towards work and have been in the industry for at least three years. He/she should be ambitious and show proof of personal development.

This award will go to a person who has displayed outstanding customer service on a consistent basis throughout the year. It should be demonstrated that this person has acted as a true service ambassador to our guests or customers, going beyond the call of duty. The candidate can work in any area of the tourism industry except for in a hotel.
This award will go to a supervisor from any department who has shown outstanding leadership skills. This person should be able to motivate his/her team to achieve positive results. Examples of the impact of this person’s leadership on the overall operation should be given.

This category is open to Hotel and Associate Members. This award goes to aspiring chefs such as Senior Cooks, Supervisor Cooks, Pantry Maids and Line Cooks, who have worked for at least 3 years in the industry. Nominees must be hard working and show keen interest in personal and professional development. A team player, this person must display a strong commitment to the culinary arts and community.
